 Who Am I?

I am a 64 year old man who currently lives in Antrim, N Ireland.

My life and attempts to improve it!

My first experience with marketing was in the 1980′s when I was introduced to Network Marketing / MLM by a relative.  After finding that I had to commit to purchasing products on a monthly basis and continually introduce new people to the particular company’s products or distribution system without much success, ie my expenditure was much more than any commission I earned, I decided that MLM was not my forte.

In November 1997 I attended an Entrepreneurs Boot Camp in London organised by Andrew Reynolds which was aimed at off line marketing rather than Internet Marketing.  As the start up costs where far in excess of what I could afford at the time I did nothing with the information provided.  (I still have all the DVD’s etc from the bootcamp).  Knowing what I now know I would describe this event as a Pitch Fest.

I was introduced to Internet Marketing when, in August 2008, I received a phone call from a salesman from a company based in Los Angeles who persuaded me to invest in their Affiliate Marketing System.

I was GUARANTEED to make sufficient income to cover my credit card bill when it became due and like a gullible fool I believed what I was told.  Things did not go as promised, training calls told me what to do but did not explain in enough detail what was needed, and also didn’t occur when they should.  The guy behind this company is a well known Internet Marketer who I will not name.

In September 2008 I joined Michael Cheney’s Golden Thread Course and learned a lot about the internet, how to set up websites, social marketing, copywriting etc.  This was a worthwhile course but there was still something missing.

After receiving hundreds of emails promoting various money making programs and the latest product launches I received about 10 emails promoting Alex Jeffrey’s MWA course in late 2008.  I decided that he might have the answers I needed and signed up.  Alex has his own way of training and has been very successful with his courses.

Owing to my JOB affecting my health I had to quit it about the same time as Alex’s course started and so was not able to invest as much as I should have into my future.  One of Alex’s key points was to write your own eBook as a giveaway and have another related product to sell on the back end.

Whilst attending a website design course I was introduced to PowerPoint and decided to write about creating video using PowerPoint.  I completed the first version in June 2009 and by using JV Giveaways gradually built up a mailing list of 400 – 500 customers.  This was not as good as it sounds as no matter what I promoted to that list my results where nearly non existant.

The first version deals with PowerPoint 2007 and I have subsequently rewritten it to cover PowerPoint 2010 as there are a number of differences in them.

As time went on my financial situation deteriorated and in early 2011 I quit completely as I could not afford to pay my renewal hosting bill.  Since signing up for the Internet Business CodeX (IBCX) with Garry and Gary I have signed up with Hostgator and can pay them on a monthly basis so I have reactivated my domains.

I have gradually been placing information on these and list some details below.  I have signed up to the Aweber autoresponder service again on monthly payments.

The domains at 13 September 2011 are:

  1. http://richardmoloney.com   Work in progress on Affiliate Marketing Information

  4. http://powerpointebook.com  Sales page for my PowerPoint ebooks
